mapIT Foundation Projects
The Compass Project
HIV Councelling and Testing campaign (HCT) is a National campaign to drive individuals and communities to take personal and collective responsibility to stop new HIV infections, provide care and support to those living with HIV and to ensure access to treatment for all people in need. One of the objectives of this campaign is to create a quick and easy entry point to accessing wellness and treatment services for those who test HIV-positive. This became the rallying point for The Compass Project, funded by the Netherlands and run by the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) in Gauteng. mapIT stepped in and sponsored an online web mapping tool for this campaign. The tool allows users to enter where they are and locate the nearest HIV testing facilities and get directions. To view visit: http://www.servicelocator.foundation.co.za/
